Internet2/Abilene + Commodity Internet Connections

Some organizations may prefer to get both types of Internet transit services (Internet2/Abilene and Commodity) through one connection to the PNW Gigapop. Depending on your organization’s situation, this service has the potential to offer the following advantages:

  • Save money as you pay for only one local loop circuit instead of two
  • Decrease the number of local loop circuits your staff needs to manage
  • Offers you multiple paths to national network backbones for your packets thereby increasing efficiency of packet delivery as well as having built-in redundancy.

This service gives you full benefit of both the Internet2/Abilene and commodity Internet services offered by PNW Gigapop.

Please note: while the PNW Gigapop will route the traffic appropriately and provide you monthly statistics on your cumulative traffic for Internet2/Abilene plus Commodity Internet service, we will not be able to provide any usage reports that track Abilene and Commodity traffic separately. All reports and all billing will be done on cumulative traffic measurements and reports.
